Not true. Sometimes you come out ahead by having no income because income disqualifies you for various social services. This is a well known problem.

- golergka 3y agoFair point, but I while it's technically true, I don't think it's relevant to the discussion at hand. Let me rephrase my original comment: a person who hasn't been earning anything and made a *rational decision* to earn something is in a better position than he was before. I honestly don't think that significant portion of these new jobs are filled with people who decided to be disqualified from social services to earn less money that they have been receiving before.
