The Forgotten Creation Myths of Taiwan
- mock-possum 3y agoDoes anyone else find that this kind of uncritical retelling of mythology isn’t super interesting? Like yeah everybody’s got weird creation myths full of non sequiturs, “suddenly a snake appeared and it was wrapped around an egg and the snake hatched the egg and a little girl was born and she was an incarnation of a goddess and” - it’s like listening to a little kid’s stream of consciousness, or to someone else tell you about a long nonsensical dream they had - what’s the appeal supposed to be?

But anyway… does anyone think, I mean, don’t you feel like your brand of dismal dismissive negativity is definitely super uninteresting? At least boring and bad, right? I mean — what’s the appeal supposed to be? Hahaha
