- 082349872349872 3y agoWhy should I believe someone stating the era of remote work is over if they were not even born when the era began?
- catchnear4321 3y ago> I would say that the experiment on that is over, and the technology is not yet good enough that people can be full remote forever, particularly on startups. Back-to-office also helps management sleep better at night. Less risk of an employee getting paid for more work than they did. Or leaving value on the table because of a missed water cooler convo. Probably. It sounds good, at least. To management. If a company is seeing poor results with WFH, it makes you wonder if there might not be a management problem.
- dtagames 3y agoGod forbid someone should "get paid for more work than they did," says billionaire capitalist who makes money on other people's labor.
- catchnear4321 3y agoYes but that’s different. The billionaire definitely did it on purpose.
