This looks like an amazing tool. I've always thought it would be great if I could curate my own search index. And the way results are summarized with citations is really cool.
However, I am not sure the free plan is generous enough to properly evaluate the search engine and see if I can incorporate it into my workflow. And the pricing feels steep. I would have a look at Kagi's pricing model.

But it still works if you want to have your own independent search. It's great for indexing specific endpoints you care about + N degrees of links. (Like your list of RSS, browser history, etc.)
- johntash 3y agoYaCy always seemed like it'd be much more popular if it had a UI/UX overhaul. Once I figured out how to have it auto-index feeds from certain sites, recent linkding saved links, etc, it became a lot more useful to me. I also have SearXNG include results from yacy automatically so I basically never interact with yacy directly anymore.
