I agree with you on all points except I've never thought about humanism that way. Perhaps I have the wrong definition or understanding of humanism. But you single out "Western" humanism and perhaps that explains it. I already believe Western culture is deeply selfist and that selfism is fundamentally immoral -- Morality is all about transcending selfishness.
