Musk threatens to reassign NPR Twitter account if it won’t start tweeting again
- dangus 3y agoI’m sure this proposed move along with the economic discontinuation of the API cements Twitter’s position as the place people want to go for their information. Because when NPR isn’t NPR and my local government no longer sends out transit alerts via Twitter, that means I’ll spend more time on the platform. Right? If the story of Twitter was fictional, critics would be complaining about their inability to suspend disbelief as they read the story.
- PaulHoule 3y agoIt’s like the story with the blue checks. It used to be you had a blue check because you were freaking William Shatner, it’s not about whether or not William can afford or want to pay $8 a month, but it was an honor to have a blue check in the past, now it means nothing. Problem is that being able to subscribe to and interact with famous people was one of the unique selling points of Twitter. Now you can’t tell William Shatner from the impersonators and because people like that are being driven away, Twitter will lose one of the reasons to be there.
