Your tech worker only gets about 4.1 days of not working? Wow. That aside, I think it would be more important to look at the carbon emissions impact of code/cpu's. That one person parsing urls might save few hundred dollars of not optimising their code but if it is being used billions of times a day the energy (and therefore emissions) impact can be huge.
