I've been having lots of thoughts lately about how you build a) a system that can respond to scale b) for the affordable price possible c) scaling infrastructure spend with income I love the anecdotes about just buying a Hetzner server which can handle a surprising amount. One of my ideas is a company that maintains an incremental infrastructure that can grow to handle extreme levels of traffic - the infrastructure itself mutates over time.
