The results fit into the following categories: - cyberflix.{me,info}: The snippet mentions 100% safe movies, which is a red flag - Astrotuf-y reviews: Includes a Quora post with my favorite quote: "In an official statement, the developers of the app have requested that users do not access illegal content through the app. This app is secure and safe to use, so there are no issues there" - Scammy apk downloader sites - Wikipedia article on defunct company So yes, googling would have done the trick. Even if they missed the obvious red flags they'd have realized the name was taken.
