Is the use of "codes" in the article, versus "code" a sign that the author/editor is not "code" literate?

- marktangotango 3y agoIt's an interesting idiom you see in hpc and scientific computing that can be jarring when first encountered. "Codes" can be read as program or library.
- petschge 3y agoNo, that is more national lab slang.
- cozzyd 3y agoIt's just a bit antiquated. Rest assured people were writing codes for decades before any consumers had computers
