Monopolies are bad. Period. Wherever they show up, they always spell trouble. If the USD monopoly goes the way of the dodo, and I most certainly hope that happens as soon as possible given how the US has been using the USD reserve currency status as a means of exerting all kinds of unwelcome political pressure around the world, the planet will be a much, much better place.
