As the father of a “high functioning” autistic daughter that was only correctly diagnosed as an adult, I wish I had been as aware as this dad when my girl was a young teen. A whole lot of pain and grief for her and for us would have been avoided. I urge everyone to read this and to consider whether a loved one of yours might not be autistic and perhaps getting an accurate diagnosis.
