My monthly mobile data plan consumed in seconds. I hate html video autoplays, especially on mobile! Unfortunatelly it appears that it is currently not possible to disable it in Kiwi browser... EDIT: someone on Reddit suggested AutoplayStopper extension
- codetrotter 3y agoThese pages are using gif rather than video. That also contributes to more data consumed, because gif has very basic compression. So in addition to an extension to disable auto play of videos for other pages, you probably need a different extension to disable gifs.
- RunningDroid 3y agoUblock Origin solves this with an option to block media elements that are larger than a configured threshold: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Per-site-switches#no-large-media-elements https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Per-site-switches#no-...
- cubefox 3y agoThere should be a warning in the title, "(website has large data size)" or somethlike that.
