Mind sharing a link on this? It doesn’t match the technical descriptions Apple has published about how the AirTag network operates. On the other hand I can see it being true about Tile…
- Gigachad 3y agoIirc someone worked out how to emulate an airtag and use the tiny amount of data they transmit to relay some data back to the owners apple account. It's not really insecure because it doesn't affect anyone but the owner of the device but you are relaying that data over other peoples phones, which is encrypted with your keys.
