The problem will be the ability to fabricate digital evidence at scale. What does it mean to research if I can fabricate an entire university complete with domains, professor bios and students all that never existed.
Then once I have that I can create a Wikipedia entry, and at that point it's basically fact already because of citogenesis.
At this point all digital evidence should be suspect and.we should trust nothing online we don't experience for ourselves in meat space.
- kolinko 3y agoUnless you can steal an actual university's website, fabricating university website won't give you much - a good agent can have a list of sources of truth and proceed from there. Sure, some sources of truth can be compromised, but it will be diffult to breach them all.
- jruohonen 3y agoFaking universities is not a new thing. These have long been known to push fraud involved with paper and certificate mills.
