- whatsu 3y agoThe Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF), through Justice Alexandre de Moraes, ruled on Tuesday (May 2) that the presidents of the Big Tech companies (Google, Meta, Spotify) must testify before the Federal Police (PF) to clarify why they authorized mechanisms that could contribute to potential disinformation against the Fake News Bill (PL das Fake News).

- wsgeorge 3y agoWould it be fair to just let the Brazilian government have its way with how these services are consumed within their country?
- matheusmoreira 3y agoWould it be fair to let the brazilian government basically take over control of social media companies and their moderation whenever it wants so it can unilaterally censor anything at any time? That's essentially what this law says. It also holds them responsible for user generated content.
