I tend to describe myself as a "data generalist"—I can build a modern data stack on my own (if I need to!), with a data warehouse, ETL, Analytics Eng, ML and DS, streaming, etc. Also comfortable with backend SWE, not comfortable setting up infra on my own. I have five years of experience, on AWS. My preference would be to work on a data-intensive or ML-intensive customer-facing product at a smaller company. But I'd be open to internal data platform or business intelligence work, in the right environment. No companies > 1000 headcount. Ideally role will involve ML and DS. Top priority is to work in an effective org with effective people.
