It’s sad to see Firefox on the decline :(
- SushiHippie 3y agoThe question is how the data is aggregated. If it is serverside via the user agent, then the result should be representative. But if it is some javascript blob that gets blocked by ublock origin or even the integrated firefox blocker, many of the firefox (and its forks) users won't show up.
- slig 3y agoEven the server side Cloudflare stats shows that FF is less than 6% [1]. [1]: https://radar.cloudflare.com/adoption-and-usage https://radar.cloudflare.com/adoption-and-usage
- SushiHippie 3y agoPerfect thats a statistic I can trust more. (Even though people are starting to avoid cloudflare hosted services, but thats currently a minority)
- Symbiote 3y agoNote that is desktop and mobile. From non-Google stats I have access to, I see little use of Firefox Mobile.
- acdha 3y agoYes - some of that is due to Firefox blocking trackers by default but most of it is real, and it dates back to when Google stepped up their anticompetitive practices like promoting Chrome on every site as more secure or faster, not to mention being very slow to fix issues with their sites like YouTube or Meet which broke or slowed usage for non-Chrome users. Unfortunately regulators haven’t shown much interest in those activities so I’m sure it’ll happen again.
- qwertyuiop_ 3y agoI want to use Firefox but never caught up to the performance of Chrome/ Brave on Mac. Recent browserbench shows 350 and FF half that :( sluggish. They should purely focus on performance instead of new features.
