To be poor in the United States or Europe is just becoming horrible. First of all nothing works anymore. Washing Machines are designed to use as little water as possible, so your clothes don't get clean like they did a few decades ago. The gas stovetop range is replaced with electric, so it takes 20 minutes to boil water. Toilets are low flo, which is just disgusting. I'd say soon the average Chinese citizen will live a better life than their western equivalent, not having to deal with sin taxes "For the Climate".
- swader999 3y agoJust trying to eat and live healthy is far more an issue than what was cited above.
- justinzollars 3y agoThese are just my annoyances. I love to cook - so the electric range issue really bothers me. I feel like many of the people who wish to impose these devices eat pizza pockets
- nicolaslem 3y agoYou have to be more precise, both resistive and induction are technically electric but one is much better than the other.
- arcticbull 3y agoYou should get an induction top. They're just as fast as - if not faster than - gas. There's no way I'd switch from my induction top back to gas. I haven't had any trouble cooking a lot more than 'pizza pockets.'
- nindalf 3y ago> The gas stovetop range is replaced with electric, so it takes 20 minutes to boil water. Unable to reproduce. I can reliably boil water within 2 minutes.
- justinzollars 3y ago;)
- CalRobert 3y agoThis is absurd. 1) Electric hobs (aka stovetops) are fast as hell. Use an induction. They're not even new. You can even get a plugin one from Ikea for about €50. 2) Toilets don't depend on flow rate. 3) My clothes seem plenty clean. I have the option to allocate extra water and add another rinse cycle if I need to, which I use for particularly soiled clothes.
- nivenkos 3y agoIt reminds me of the story about the New York beaches where they deliberately designed the transport to try to prevent public transport access to the "better" beaches, so they'd mostly remain only accessible to the wealthy (although it's not clear if this was actually true). Like they want to make transport so expensive that the poor people stay away, and the rich can travel the world freely without having to share space and attractions with them. Same for eating meat, and living in the suburbs and larger residences. That said, an induction hob doesn't take 20 minutes to boil water.
- justinzollars 3y agoIf your technology was better you wouldn't have to downvote an opinion on that tech.
- gadders 3y agoI had an eco friendly washing machine. You had to run the cycle twice to get plates clean.
- proto_lambda 3y ago> I had an eco friendly washing machine I'm surprised the plates survived at all, I guess you didn't use the spin cycle? Kidding aside, dishwashers, even new ones, should be perfectly capable of cleaning your dishes in a single cycle unless they've been left to dry out for days, are stacked improperly, or the detergent isn't dosed correctly. It's always worth consulting the manual for tips as well.
