>The future of the democratic world will be determined by whether the Ukrainian military can break a stalemate with Russia and drive the country backwards—perhaps even out of Crimea for good.
yikes. Nato is anti-democratic and destructive, but i wouldn't go this far. this is just one of Nato's many campaigns against peace and the rule of law.
surrounding, containing, harming, weakening, and ideally destroying Russia is the ultimate goal, but the US has already largely achieved its aims -- mission accomplished.
we're already onto doing the same to China. India is not a threat to US domination yet, and presumably won't be anytime soon.
US/Nato violence and coercion around the world will continue until the US population decides to put up a fight.
We're all going to pay for this war a million times over with the global warming it's accelerated. Spring is here and it only gets more fun from here on out.
- clouddrover 3y ago> surrounding, containing, harming, weakening, and ideally destroying Russia is the ultimate goal No. Russia has done this to itself. Russia would have been far better off had it not invaded Ukraine, but Putin's vanity was put ahead of Russia's best interests. The Ukrainian defeat of Russia is the best result for everyone, including Russia.

Russia is continuing to punch itself in the face, every day, since they invaded Ukraine, since, Russia alone made the decision to cross that border and start a brutal war of conquest in a neighbouring country. But yes, of course, NATO is forcing Russia to punch itself in the face, and fail at taking a city thats 380km from its border in over a year.
