- jccalhoun 3y agoThe article quotes Snopes: "The (FCC) official, who requested anonymity, added that they had not seen any rise in instances of consumer complaints about juice-jacking.” And Krebs doesn't dispute this.
- falcolas 3y agoThis is probably getting pedantic, but dismissing a risk as "nonsense" is how the general population forgets that certain risks exist. And this risk absolutely exists. If you're a non-tech savvy but high-risk user who travels quite a bit, it's probably worth taking the precaution of using your own charger and cord. That way you don't have to worry about accidentally approving something on your phone that's going to hijack it.
- hot_gril 3y agoI agree with not calling it nonsense. Makes this weirdly feel like a political info war with such extreme takes.
- falcolas 3y agoKrebs does indeed report on this kind of stuff. With a number of citations and product examples. https://krebsonsecurity.com/2023/04/why-is-juice-jacking-suddenly-back-in-the-news/ https://krebsonsecurity.com/2023/04/why-is-juice-jacking-sud...
