i think the word "nationalism" is maybe difficult because it all depends what you call a nation. You seem to think Europe is a nation for example. Instead of thinking like this, maybe we should see how many borders are added or made less permeable. Brexit added stronger borders to 27 other countries. EU made borders between 28 (now 27) countries more permeable / less hard. From that point of view I would say Brexit is more nationalist (more "borders-loving") than EU, clearly.
