I would like to think that eventually people will come to realise that chasing synthetically scarce assets based on a chain of hashes are an exercise in punting them to the next round of hopeful buyers, and thus grow weary, but unfortunately as a wise person once said "There's one born every minute."
- andirk 4y agoSo like stonks. Glad I didn't listen to you when I started picking up those "chain of hashes" at 700 USD. There are so many valid arguments against crypto, but this "these people are all suckers but I am smartest!" is such a self-serving, empty, useless attack on crypto. Did you know forex exists? Thats fake paper money thats often not even paper.
- DamnYuppie 4y agoSimilarly you can buy gold certificates that are not actually backed by gold, which seems crazy to me. Why people think crypto is a scam and all their other made up currencies are less of a concerted scam and are more robust is absolutely comical to me.
