So there are ways to vet tenants (credit/background checks) and ways to vet landlords (sites like TFA). They are not ideal but they exist.
Now what is the best way to vet a property management firm?
For background, I own a townhome that I plan to move out of soon. I would like to keep it as a rental but do not want to manage it myself. All I've got for finding a property management firm are Google reviews (worried they are gamed) and colleagues recommendations (they will ignore the request and tell me to manage it myself).
