Imho such a test should include org-mode, which can be used to produce LaTeX documents more conveniently, without limiting anything as it can be mixed with LaTeX syntax. Was a real time-saver for me in the past. Markdown + pandoc can work too but I'm not sure about how feature complete you can get with that route.

And this matters a lot. Word was the reason I learned LaTeX and I can imagine it's similar for some others too. Maybe I'm slower with LaTeX, not sure, but at least I feel in control and don't hate every second of it.
- stop50 4y agoI made a few thing in Latex and one of the things i liked about it was that i could organize my stuff & don't have to worry about the formatting. I have to change an config file? Just change it. On the next build it 's in there. Im using Ansible? Just use the same file for Ansible and the latex doc.
