This has not been my experience with Airdrop, unfortunately. Transferring files from my iPhone to my 2015 MBP via Telegram is far more predictable experience than relying on Airdrop.
And I absolutely loathe that Apple makes it impossible to Bluetooth files to my aged Windows/Linux PC. Terrible UX.
- rchaud 3y agoI've been sending files from OSX to my Android phone via Bluetooth for years with no issues; I love not having to use cloud or email or some wifi relay service to do this. Apple blocking this functionality on iPhone to force people into their very NIH Airdrop 'solution' is exactly the kind of anti-consumer move that turns me off of iPhones. Heck, if Linux doesn't work properly on the new ARM Macs, I might dump Mac OS too.
