I’ve always bought cds to support artists i like, even during the napster days, and even now in the world of streaming. I used to buy digipaks, since they were more limited, had cool artwork and more features. These days, i buy records for the same reason. Mostly, it comes down to being able to own something physical that is well crafted and beautiful. Vinyl fits this well also, since you get things like limited press special vinyls etc. I find myself buying more vinyl, and i’m also in the same boat as people in the article as i don’t have a record player (yet)
