Nuke-launching AI would be illegal under proposed US law
- alden5 3y agobasically a law preventing the equivalent of a US dead hand. Its really interesting how the average person thinks that AI has just been “discovered”. With the advent of LLMs being able to emulate intelligence it’s made people alot more cautious of automated systems that have already existed for 20+ years. now that computers can talk they’re suddenly going to take over the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Hand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Hand
- hammyhavoc 3y agoI don't think it's that whatsoever, obviously someone floated this idea and someone else (likely many people) saw the stupidity in it. Felt the need to nip it in the bud so old farts stop bringing it up. I imagine some sixty-something year old politician who knows very little about LLMs floated the idea.
