Ask HN: Why my post is not visible?
I was trying to post this link
https://coolainewsletter.substack.com/p/agi-is-not-chess-bots-they-will-replace
And it's not showing for people except me.
I know the last time I posted a link and the system accidentally made it double posts, which I don't know why it happened.. I really only posted one time.
Is it the reason I got banned? I mean.. at least tell me why I am banned instead of doing this. More transparency will be appreciated
- anenefan 4y agoVouched since the answer is not evident or obvious. You seem to only post links to your own substack. People do post their own content but ... is each submission worthy of being of particular interest? The guess is automatic software is killing your submissions. Here's a reply I made to someone who was in a similar boat - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35563846 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35563846
- codermind 4y agoMy posts might not be interesting all the time. But shouldn't this be decided by audience instead of HN editors or system? If it's not interesting, people won't upvote it and it won't show up in the front page.
- anenefan 4y agoThe thing is, if the software erroneously marks a submission as dead, someone like myself might happen to spot it, check out the link, hit past listed on the submission stub as well as searching out similar topics in case it was recently posted ... for me if it looks legit and not a blatant rehash site's content, vouch for the topic. The software seems annoying but it stops the site turning into spam central without a great deal of work.
