As an aside I am so grateful for people like Casey Muratori (whose article is referenced in that blog). Their rants about speed and performance is so needed in this world where a chat app like Slack literally gets the fans spinning. There are few of them remaining but they shine brightly in an otherwise messy and slow land. Recently I had to touch a nuxt js project and my experience with it was so janky. The hot module replacement sometimes works, sometimes doesn't and basically it is worse than having to refresh manually every single time.
