Intel needs to abandon x86/AMD_64 and backwards compatibility and release their ARM designs, if they have them, otherwise, then they should have them. Exactly who is running even 20yo software, and why, exactly, does Intel care? They should have eighty-sixed x86/AMD_64 a decade ago at least. I think it is absolutely bonkers they've been bending over-backwards for so very long to support such a flawed and ancient architecture.
