The fact that the contract is enforced automatically, the dues are paid irrevocably on every sale, and depending on the blockchain in a censorship resistant way seem like some innovation... Good luck getting paid your "droit de suite" once your painting is outside of the almost only jurisdiction where it *was* practiced.
