Intel reports largest quarterly loss in company history
- bcrl 4y agoI truly wonder how Intel is going to survive all the government subsidies to build new fabs they have signed up for. Fabs cost money to operate and require volume to generate profit. Intel does not have a track record of becoming successful foundry despite trying more than once to head down that path.
- Maursault 4y agoIntel needs to abandon x86/AMD_64 and backwards compatibility and release their ARM designs, if they have them, otherwise, then they should have them. Exactly who is running even 20yo software, and why, exactly, does Intel care? They should have eighty-sixed x86/AMD_64 a decade ago at least. I think it is absolutely bonkers they've been bending over-backwards for so very long to support such a flawed and ancient architecture.
