Young Professor driving candidate (friend of mine) back to the airport after being interviewed by faculty. "How do you think I did?"
Answer: "The moment they learned you had kids, you were out. They're going to hire a man; you had no chance."
That was years ago. I hoped it was better now.

- meepmorp 4y agoA preference for women isn't the same thing as no longer penalizing people with kids.
- crackercrews 4y agoYeah, the quote is ambiguous. It claims the candidate was out when they found out about the kids. Simultaneously it claims that they planned to hire a man all along. Both can't be true.
