My undergrad degree was in math, but neither my wife nor either of our (now-adult) kids think they're any good at it. They smile tolerantly when I sometimes shake my head over their seeming inability to grasp — and their evident lack of interest in — what, to me, are simple mathematical concepts. (Of course, my own higher-math skills have atrophied to nearly nothing after decades of not using them ....)
