Wow, headline doesn't lie, if the rest of the text is for real. Trying to get 3N into automotive. The article points out the ruggedness challenges could be severe.
Last I recall, not for application processors but for a lot of concerns, TSMC & others were just trying to get folks to get to 28nm and some 16nm. To shut down old fabs this is quite the leap past that.
