Bulletproof Hosting
- ggm 3y agoOne of those times where the name is a strong disconnect from reality. "unsinkable" ships, "unbreakable" glass, "cheap" space launches.. It's bulletproof to the limits of LEA reach, but its infrastructure connectivity and reachability is constrained by the wider community reaction. BGP does what BGP does. Same with SORBS and RBL and all the other systems which inject trust (of some kind: I don't personally like some of the RBL behaviours) into the system. There is massive pushback on "bad" actors. Maybe "Bad" is contextually defined, but "bulletproof" is a marketing label not a reality. Sealand did not have inexhaustible supplies of food.
