- DemocracyFTW2 3y agoYour comment is way off the mark. The debris is covering around 1km² of area with lots of both sizable chunks of metal and concrete littering the landscape and the bottom of the nearby sea. SpaceX has signed an agreement with the responsible agency to meticulously clean each and every bit of junk they put into the environment, explicitly by hand, on foot, no vehicles allowed. I can recommend the latest video by Common Sense Skeptic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErDuVomNd9M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErDuVomNd9M) for lots of details; environmental impact is at length being shown in the second half of it.
- armatav 3y agoThat’s exactly why it’s guilt-tripping.
- gus_massa 3y agoI agree. Note that it's like a rectangle of 100mx150m (approximately 100 yards x 150 yards). We have 100m x 100m blocks here in Buenos Aires, so I understand that better as a 1.5 BuenosAires-block (approximately 0.7 Manhattan-blocks). Or like Wolfram Alpha says, like 2 soccer fields. (Obviously, they didn't launch over a city.)
