Transcript Between Yann LeCun and Eliezer Yudkowsky
- mellosouls 3y agoWhile I find the wider conversation that these two represent quite interesting, I recently unfollowed both due to the unfortunate tone and repetitiveness of each man. It seemed already clear when reading them in isolation but becomes particularly stark when they engage each other. They are both clearly quite bright but really could perhaps represent their views in a more engaging way with a little more reflection.
- camel-cdr 3y ago> When it comes to scaling more cognitive tasks, Kasparov won the game of Kasparov vs. The World, where a massively parallel group of humans led by four grandmasters tried and failed to play chess good enough for Kasparov. Humans really scale very poorly, IMO. It's not clear to me that, say, all Meta employees put together, collectively exceed John von Neumann for brilliance in every dimension Are there more example for/against this?
