Of course there are restrictions like if your office is already in a private building, probably not. But if it’s facing a public street and I just walk in, how would I know you didn’t leave it open all the time? If you had some “no tresspassing” “private property” signs up and the door was open, then your scenario is less likely to work. Or if your documents are locked up in a file cabinet, then I can’t break into it.
