Seems another way to AGI with LLMs is to curate the inputs as well as possible. Letting an LLM loose on the broader internet is undoubtedly quicker and easier but a little discipline sometimes helps. I don't know how well-curated GPT-4's inputs are. In any case I don't want an LLM to sell me Viagra or talk to me about how crystals will enhance my spiritual vigor et al. An LLM that is educated to Masters' level in the languages, science and computer science should be a good start.
