This is interesting. They use spaced out towing aircraft to avoid having to carry enough energy on a plane to make the whole flight. It's very difficult for me to imagine this will ever become real - it's way too awkward, and now instead of just hoping you flight isn't delayed or cancelled, you also have to hope that holds for two towing flights as well. But it's cool to see (presumed) funding for different ideas like this.
