- jjtheblunt 3y agoDid your logitech mx master install a kext? kextstat | grep -v com.apple shouldn't show any third party things installed. If it does, that's very very likely what's wrong. (Disclaimer: was in Apple engineering for several years)
- behnamoh 3y agoThere's definitely some interference between BlueTooth and Wi-Fi going on and it's not specific to the new Macs. I experienced similar issues with my 2015 MBP when using BT mice. Switching to Logitech's dongle would completely solve the problem.
- crimsontech 3y agoYeah I remember having this on my 2015 mbp too, it was infuriating and I ended up switching to a wired mouse and keyboard at the time.
- behnamoh 3y agoBest decision ever! I remember at the same time, my Lenovo T490s didn't have any BT issues with my mouse.
- indemnity 3y agoI never install anything but a vanilla macOS, and don’t have any kexts. Been like this for years. I guess now we know why it’s not fixed if this is the Apple engineering mindset.
- jjtheblunt 3y agoNah, thats just an attempt by a few years retired Apple engineer from a different division to help a person out on Hacker News, with an often pertinent idea.
- indemnity 3y agoSorry, I let my frustration get the better of me. Thank you for trying to help.
- jjtheblunt 3y agoOf course. It’s frustrating if it’s an unfixed bug for so many.
- volkk 3y agonope, no kexts
- CobaltFire 3y agoI've had exactly the opposite experience with my MX Master 3 AND MX Ergo. Dongle is horrible, bluetooth is perfect. No idea why, just is. It's not even sometimes, it's instantly noticeable and never goes away.
- thevagrant 3y agoI had issues with Logitech over the years and found two main causes. 1. Battery degradation meant the mouse would appear charged but have variable lag at unpredictable times. 2. Too many devices using Bluetooth/wifi located in the same desk space. Switching bluetooth off on some unused devices, headphones, tablet, spare laptop (or switching them off completely) to reduce interference did help
- volkk 3y ago> 2. Too many devices using Bluetooth/wifi located in the same desk space. that might have a lot to do with it, but its 2023, like cmon. I should be able to use more than 3 devices without horrible lag.
