A year ago, I enthusiastically jumped on the project and I've got a half dozen ESP32-pico-D4 and Quectel L96 GPS modules on my desk, a breakout board for one GPS module that only works with a powered antenna that's twice the size of my Garmin Fenix 6 Pro, and a half-finished Kicad project to turn it into a watch, a very dusty RF design textbook that I've not read since 2011, and not enough time or energy to see it through.
