This is true and just to clarify on your clarification patients have been unable to get a CPAP replacement for years. In some places they would be offered things like special pillows as a substitute. Special pillows are in no way a substitute for positive airway pressure/airway splinting. Or you could have a device that electrocutes your throat when it starts closing implanted into your neck.
