I genuinely think we’re just at the beginning of the era of remakes and remasters for games. There’s clearly a massive market for stuff like the FF7 / RE4 remakes — not just graphical updates, but total overhauls of beloved classics with modern game design. People will burn out eventually. But if I could play, I dunno, HL2 built in Unreal Engine with a modern team? I’d drop $60 in a heartbeat.
