Ask HN: How can I get more stars to my open source repo?
I have new open source project, https://apibrew.io/ I would like to get some advice on, How can I get stars to it? Even feedbacks will be helpful, Do you know what is starting point for it?
- db48x 4y agoGithub stars don’t mean anything. Focus on the project itself, not on popularity contests.
- talehibrahimli 4y agoI created open source version of my project, if open source version is successfull, I am planning to build its cloud version, So how differently can I measure if it successful or not?
- verdverm 4y agoBy how many people use it. Stars are mose akin to likes or bookmarks at this point.
- talehibrahimli 4y agoI got it, Thanks
- verdverm 4y agoAs you seem to be a non-native English speaker, I would recommend you get some help with the grammar for the documentation. Even running it through word or gdocs would help.
- talehibrahimli 4y agoYes, It is good idea, Thank you!
- ftxbro 4y agoIt sounds like you decided that you can get more stars by putting it on hacker news!
- talehibrahimli 4y agoYes, it is true, I am also sharing link of my repo and its blog links on hacker news.
