YT helped me learn a lot about software engineering before I had a professional SWE job, but it was nowhere near a replacement for a bit of experience. My first 6mo at a good company was very formative.
- hiepph 4y agoIt's a supplementary, I'd say. From my experience, I learn more from a structured material (aka courses, books) and structured process (aka working in a company). But I often get the motivation and knowledge from unstructured material like YouTube.
