  4chan is mostly anti-astroturfed - it's actual people but they'll just kneejerk-hate anything which is popular on reddit or with 'normies'.

  4chan is actually among the less toxic discussion sites, and definitely better than Reddit. This is mostly owed to the quality of its moderation team. 4chan's infamy is largely undeserved.
