So there is a lot of negativity about duolingo, and yes I can see some of the arguments. But. It is largely free, and builds vocabulary. It is the only system that has kept a language in my head. Through it, I can now converse with my family in their native language. Sure, immersion is miles better, but its also n months wage. Yes, its not great for talking. there are better apps out there for it. but again they are not free. As a companion to learning, its brilliant. as a replacement, its sub par
